An example of the power of Facebook marketing
Here is a short post to show the power of Facebook marketing.
On November 8th a person asked her friends on Facebook who she should talk to about her Auto/ Home & Umbrella.
Below is a picture of the actual post…but to summarize it..
Between comments and likes, five agents where recommended:
- One agent was recommended once.
- One agent was recommended twice.
- One agent was recommended three times.
- One agent was recommended four times.
- I was recommended eighteen times.
This is a prime example of how the agent now and in the future will get the majority of their business.
Really if you think about it, it is the same as it has always been…. selling and marketing through word of mouth.
The difference is the avenue/place/tool that society uses to spread that word of mouth advertising has changed…
Chamber of Commerce events are dying, the newspapers are going out of business, billboards are coming down, radio has been traded in for Pandora, and DVR’s have almost eliminated TV commercials.
These mediums to spread the word have been neutralized….and the power has been transferred..
The power of marketing is Facebook marketing….and a few others like Google+, and LinkedIn..
Tell me about your success stories. I would love to hear them and if they are really good, I will share them here or on my podcast Agents Influence.

Jason, loved your podcast on insurance journal. I left a captive agency almost 1 yr ago and have never been happier. I’m working on beefing up my local search results. To that end, I am focusing on asking my clients to write reviews on FB, Yelp, and Google. I also discovered YEXT.com (call me for my sales guy). For $499/yr they got my listing uniform over most of the major search engines. I have total control and can view, change, update my listing at any time.
I’m 50, but am always looking for ways to innovate. I have a business FB page and love the boost feature, but still feel I’m underutilizing it.
I know you can’t reply to every agent out here with questions, but perhaps you can point me in the right direction on how to better utilize FB
